CMR M&A and Company Sale Division Director
	David Staveley email: d.staveley@cmruk.com :: Profile:: David comes to his role with a background of building and restructuring the international businesses that he has run, on 4 continents, for two major textile and clothing groups – the American VF Corporation and the UK’s original £1million IPO, Coats. Undertaking company purchases and sales for these multinationals, followed by a period as CEO of a listed Plc in a turnaround situation in Scotland gave him an appetite for M&A. His Mergers and Acquisitions experience covers Management Buy-In’s and Out’s in the UK as well as more conventional company mergers, sales and purchases in North and South America, Australasia and Europe. Frequent moves have led to a facility to rapidly assess the uniqueness of new companies and thereby extract maximum potential. His first stand-alone role as country manager was at 24 when he began to experience the subtleties of negotiating in different cultures that has stood him in good stead facilitating negotiations in today’s world!

	Dr. Allen Barnatt email: a.barnatt@cmruk.com :: Profile:: Dr Allen Barnatt spent 25 years in the chemical industry at senior line and corporate level, including technical management, business development, technology licensing and marketing. He has been closely involved with the development of profitable new business in small, medium and large international companies, using a range of techniques including licensing, acquisition, synergy identification/implementation and university liaison. Following senior management positions at Lankro Chemicals and Baxenden Chemicals he was appointed Corporate Development manager of RTZ Chemicals, and later at Rhone Poulenc Chemicals. He has a degree in chemistry and a PhD in polymer chemistry, has published many techno/commercial papers, and served at senior levels on several Trade Associations.

	James Wigzell email: j.wigzell@cmruk.com :: Profile:: Trained as an electronics engineer in the early days of computers, then marketed them around the world for major suppliers, until diverting with McDonnell Douglas into the asset finance sector that provided most of the necessary computer company funding. Then to the investment bank source of such funds, with ten years as a director of Kleinwort Benson Finance in all aspects of leasing, which set the pattern for the last ten years of independent life - handling major asset finance requirements of larger corporates.

CMR Divisional Director
	Chris Copeman email: c.copeman@cmruk.com :: Profile:: Trained initially as a production and mechanical engineer with the (pre-GEC) Marconi Company, he then moved to the newly formed Marconi CCTV and Electro-Optical Systems Division as a sales manager. In 1970 he was a co-founded of a polymer/plastics group developing, manufacturing and marketing fluoropolymer and high order polymer coatings. He was MD of the UK Company with subsidiaries in Germany, France and Spain and covering Europe, Africa and the Middle East. After a US takeover in 1989 he became group Vice President with a growing worldwide turnover of $50m. He combines expertise in surveying technical markets, international licensing, surface treatment technology, and the start-up and running of SMEs.

His 30 years experience in financial services sector will help in getting the best funding solution available. He has been responsible for the fast turn round of both individual companies and large international company divisions. He has controlled high end capital sales, marketing, engineering, training and support operations world wide. He is a strong advocate of customer focused organisations, quality management, integrated technology and team building within all levels of a company.

South West Region:
	John Dickens email : j.dickens@cmruk.com :: Profile:: John is an experienced and mature General Manager with an electronics/communications engineering background. He has had a varied International career and has held Director level appointments in Rockwell International, Codan Pty and News International. At News he managed the start up of the Sky TV subscribers call centre and built the UK’s first Smart Card manufacturing plant. For the past twelve years John has worked with a number of SME’s in a wide range of business sectors and has had considerable success in ‘turning round’ poorly performing and ‘sub critical’ companies. He has excellent IT, commercial and financial skills and a strong track record in achievement of results through team building and leadership. In addition to his role of managing the CMR South West region, currently John is providing consultancy/mentoring to a number of small businesses and is managing a number of Intellectual Property licensing projects.

His industry focus has been on the development, manufacture, sale and resale of electronic, industrial and electrical products, based on multiple sales and manufacturing locations worldwide. In addition to international management, he has extensive experience of planning, acquiring and integrating companies. This significant combination of proven capability and experience brings an understanding of business that can contribute greatly to issues facing owners, shareholders and managers.

Experience includes a wide range of strategic, general and finance management responsibilities in Bottling, Corporate, Division Office and Sales entities. Strategic, finance and operational capability is complemented by extensive M&A, franchise management, negotiation, business restructuring and people management experience. A team player who places a high premium on integrity, innovation, open communication, people development and accountability. He worked with Divisional Controllers to successfully complete the conversion of systems in the largest integration programme in the Financial Services sector. He is currently providing consultancy services for one of the largest Insurance Group change programmes. After experience in the automotive, construction and retail sectors, he joined a major European bank to oversee the rationalisation of the industrial and commercial subsidiaries. The period arranging the refinancing, disposals, mergers and acquisitions was invaluable experience. Having managed large corporate companies up to Group Chief Executive level, he is able to offer his strategic and financial experience to the SME sector. He has acquired (and sold) several businesses on his own account and has first hand experience of the pressures, concerns and constraints of the owner/managers and shareholders of small to medium sized private companies. He is an advocate of the direct action approach to management. His current portfolio includes a wide range of sectors from engineering, automotive, media (television programme production) to retail operations.

He has extensive experience in company turnaround and reorganisation. Companies in which he worked include Smurfit and Fitzwilton. Additionally he is an experienced international marketing and business-planning consultant specialising in corporate planning, organisation structure, merger situations, project appraisal and all aspects of IR and personnel. He has enjoyed particular success in personally implementing solutions to problems as opposed to reporting on them. Latterly he sold his own company following a MBO and turnaround.
